Inspired by my Instagram feed again, I just had to discuss Power Africa Now ( http://shop.powerafricanow.com/). I saw their Glow in the Dark (above) designs and thought it was a pretty fresh concept. 

What I DIDN'T know, until writing this blog entry, was that this company is producing these products as a call to action for those without access to electricity in Africa. I love socially conscious people and companies, especially those that help humans directly. Their slogan, “Share the light, Power Your World." encouraged me to further pursue the idea of creating a collection to benefit depression and suicide prevention. 

Also, a friend of mine in New York suggested that I create accessories that pair up with athletic apparel. From that suggestion, the "Represent Collection" was born. I like the idea of pairing up with Power Africa Now and other organizations to "represent" social causes. 

Inspiration can come from so many places. I just keep my eyes peeled.

So anyone who knows me, knows that I am a fashion-head and like many members of the human race, I am on Instagram (LCrawford910). While scrolling through my feed today, I came across this dress, by Rami Kadi:

Now I can't help but think that I can make some earrings out of some silk and maybe mohair materials. The level of detail that Rami uses in his pieces, reflects where I would like to find myself with Crazy House Designs in the future.

If you venture on to his website at www.Rami-Kadi.com, you will undoubtedly be astonished by the collections there. I would like to work more with evening wear at some point. For now, I just follow my heart and my hands.
